Jorgelina Prado (Militon)

BIOGRAPHY

 

Jorgelina Prado (Militon) was born on July 9, 1965 in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. After graduating from high school, spending a year in the United States (on a scholarship) and spending a few years at university studying Geology, she joined the School of Fine Arts where she graduated in 1991.

She regularly exhibited her paintings and drawings and began to travel in Europe. She eventually settled in France, completed her university studies in Paris and continued to exhibit her paintings. With the arrival of her children, she began to explore the world of illustration and participated as a member of the House of Illustrators in numerous group exhibitions and events around illustration. First known as “Jorgelina Militon”, she obtained in 2006 the illustration prize “Ouvrez, ouvrez les livres aux bébés” organized by the Conseil Général du Puy-de-Dôme, which allowed her to see her first album published “La petite fille heureuse”. As a professional painter, she obtains in 2007 the prize “Mai des créateurs”, organized by the Cultural Center of the city of Orly and in 2017 the painting prize of the association “La Palette du Val de Marne”. In 2019, during the artistic meetings of the city of Villecresnes she obtained the “Palms of Excellence”. Her painting was acquired by the City Hall where it is exposed. In 2020 she won the National Assembly prize at the Evry painting salon. She is a member of the House of Artists.
