He won the silver medal at the National Labor Exhibition in 1982. 1992, he made the tapestry “Messengers of silence” (wool, altuglas, pewter and ceramic) for the Town Hall of Antony. At the same time, since 1986 Alain Aghaïan has been teaching tapestry in a social reintegration school in Bolzano, Italy.

A world born of scrapings of scrapings, of withdrawals strata after strata. He works by cutting, seeking the sapwood behind the bark, the real behind the appearance. Ripping, stripping the skin of things. The result is disturbing. Rich materials like lichens, mold crusts rust on the sides of beached ships.
